Measure Sport Intangibles
Sport psychologist Dr. Robert Troutwine developed the Troutwine Athletic Profile (TAP) in 1988 to better predict which NFL draft prospects would likely be more successful and compatible with organizational culture.
The TAP measures intangible mental skills that are critical for performance:
-
confidence
-
mental toughness
-
grit
-
coachability
-
attention to detail
-
concentration speed
-
decisiveness
-
composure
Thousands of professional, Olympic, collegiate, and youth athletes from all sports have taken the TAP to better understand their mental strengths and weaknesses.
Understanding an athlete's mental makeup allows everyone associated with the athlete's development -- athlete, coach and parent – to work together to optimize performance.
The TAP is designed for athletes ages 13 and older and includes about 100 items plus one timed exercise. The assessment takes about 25 minutes to complete and works best on a larger screen device (laptop, iPad).
Athletes can take the TAP and get a FREE Report immediately. More detailed reports for athletes, coaches, and parents are available at a modest price.
The TAP is one instrument we use in our programs. We also help coaches, parents and athletes learn how to best utilize TAP results to improve mental performance.
